Venezuela is a member of the World Broadcasting Union thus it's eligible to participate in the Current Music Competition.
It debuted in the seventh edition of the contest and won the edition thanks to Evaluna Montaner and her song "Me Liberé". Venezuela became the first South American country to win the contest and "Me Liberé" the first Spanish song to win the contest.
