Kurdistan was a member of the World Broadcasting Union thus it was eligible to participate in the Current Music Competition. It debuted in the fourteenth edition of the contest. Two months later, Kurdistan lost its membership in the WBU, which made them ineligible to participate in future editions of the contest.
